EFOST 2010 MEETING REPORT

Dear Colleagues,

6th Meeting of the European Federation of National Associations of Orthopaedic Sports Traumatology Congress was held between 25-27 November 2010 in Dolce La Hulpe Brussels, Belgium.  

EFOST meeting was not only a chance for education and scientific improvement but was also a good opportunity to meet and create new friendships.

Programme was consisted of world expert's lectures about single bundle and double bundle reconstructions, first time dislocation, the stiff elbow and ageing athlete and also lectures about tendon, muscle and ligament problems gained so much interest. With the ''East Meets West'' sessions, and interactive debates and videos sessions, program served powerful learning opportunities. International lecturers, John Bergfeld, William Clancy, Freddie Fu, Mitsuo Ochi, Bruce Reider, Kandiah Raveendran and Savio Woo shared their experiences and knowledge with the participants. 

There were more than 60 education sessions and 90 Key Opinion Leader presentations. Fifty-six oral presentations and  60 e-poster presentations enriched the content of the programme.

Three study was crowned by EFOST awards;

** Let People Move Research Instutite Award for best research paper winner was Dr. Onur Bilge from Turkey,

** The EFOST award for best paper winner was Dr. Piotr Lukasik from Poland,

** The Brussels Capital Region award winner was Dr. Salvatore Bisicchia from Italy.

The 7th EFOST 2012 Meeting will be combined with the World Trauma Sports Meeting under the organization of Mr.Roger Hackney and Pr.Nicola Maffulli in London in Novemmer 07-10, 2012.

Until the congress in 2012, we believe that EFOST family will grow more and provide a better concept for Sports Traumatology concept and will get into the internationally standardized concepts for the prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of the athletes and improve that concept in Europe and all of the world.
